Ian Fry is a Director of Knoco Australia which is a Knowledge Management consultancy and part of a world-wide group. Ian presented to our August Café Quality session where he introduced Knowledge & Information Management and discussed the interaction with Quality.
We explored the important differences between Knowledge Management and Information Management. The sessions had some robust discussion and we explored aligning it with the new section within ISO 9001:2015 on Management of Information.
This session continued threads from the May Café Quality around the meaning of quality outside of “meeting specification”
Ian is approaching 50 years experience in IT and has moved into the realm of Knowledge Management after award-winning projects combining Information and Knowledge Management. He is a frequent speaker on Knowledge Management and in 2016 chaired the National Conference and I am sure we will be looking to seek out Ian’s views again as the area and subject of Information and Knowledge management matures.
