Mr Jeff Ryall JM
Jeff is President of The Australian Organisation for Quality. Jeff moved into the quality scene around 30 years ago, deepening his quality knowledge as his business experience grew. His interest in the governance components of Quality Management grew from early emphasis on standard and contract compliance, and later from exposure to the plethora of legislative compliance requirements that organisations currently face. He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial metallurgy and spent his early years working in steel plants. He is a certified quality engineer and has an MBA. Jeff is currently managing director of RelianSys Pty Ltd, a startup software firm that provides the Advent ManageR® Governance Software suite of applications. Jeff was awarded the Juran Medal in 2007.
Dr Martin Andrew
Martin (BSc (Hons), PhD) has been active in the Australian Organisation for Quality since 2011 following his attendance at Qualcon 2010 which sparked a desire to get involved. He has served as Council member and President at State and National levels, and is a member of the newly reorganised national AOQ Ltd Board. Martin convened the Program committees for the 2011, 2014, and 2016 Qualcon Conferences. Martin has been actively involved in Quality Management since about 2007.
Martin is currently the Australia New Zealand Quality and Delivery Assurance Manager for AECOM, one of world’s largest civil infrastructure design and environmental services companies (NYSE: ACM) and leads a virtual team located around the region. He is based in Adelaide, Australia. Martin is a member of AECOM’s global quality team that oversees quality processes and tools, performance and reporting. He is also a member of AECOM’s global Sustainability team. Prior to this he was URS’s APAC Group Quality Director, and global lead subject matter expert for the online quality courses, in particular the annual ‘Culture of Quality’ series. (URS became part of AECOM in 2015). Prior to his work in quality, Martin had a diverse career in environmental management: research (10 years), academia (8 years) and consulting as a ‘specialist generalist’ undertaking assignments from sustainable grazing systems to performance of green buildings (URS, 14 years). He is a manuscript reviewer for the international ‘Rangelands Journal’.
Mr Craig Ottaway JM
Craig is the Company Secretary and Public Office of AOQ. He has over 25 years experience in the defence industry and 7 years in the automotive industry. He has spent a number of years as a consultant advising on quality and other management aspects.
He joined AOQ and attended his first Qualcon in 2003 and sat on the South Australian and National Committees from 2004. He has been involved in organising the Qualcon Conferences in 2004, 2008, 2011, 2014 and 2016.
He currently works full time at General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia in the role of Manufacturing and Quality Manager. He has been an active member of AOQ since 2002 and has served the organisation holding the position of President at both State and National Levels.
Craig was awarded the Juran Medal in 2014.
Ms Branka Malinovic
Branka’s relationship with the Australian Organisation for Quality (AOQ) dates back 30 years, AOQ is who she turned to for support, to help her with understanding all things Quality, at the start of her career. Branka studied Chemistry, however she found that working in a laboratory did not suit. She stepped into a QC role which eventually led to role in QA across the business, and did not look back.
Over the years Branka has worked in various industries, including FMCG, Training, Recruitment, Construction and the last 10 years in the resource industry. Branka is currently the Business Assurance Manager for Amec Foster Wheeler Australia.
Over the years Branka has worked closely with AOQ members from various states in Australia, supporting the purpose of AOQ, which is “To provide leadership in Quality that drives a strong and competitive Australia”.
Branka’s move from New South Wales to Western Australia resulted in the reinvigoration of the AOQ Perth Chapter, the chapter is very active, holding networking and educational events as well as various industry site visits.
Ms Jacqueline Stone
Jacqueline has worked in the quality industry for 26 years, starting out in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry where she worked for 7 years before moving across to the consulting engineering service industry where she’s been for the last 20 years. She has held various professional roles including Scientific Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Regulatory Affairs Officer, Quality & Training Manager and Quality, Environment & Sustainability Leader.
Jacqueline holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science and is a Lead Auditor in Quality & Environment Management Systems. She works for Aurecon, who provide advisory, design, delivery and asset management services on projects across a range of markets, in locations worldwide and holds a global operations role in quality, environment & sustainability. She has presented at both the Qualcon (AOQ) and APOQ (Asia Pacific Quality Organisation) conferences.
With a passion for quality and those in quality, Jacqueline set up AOQs Brisbane Chapter in late 2016 bringing together a diverse group of enthusiastic quality professionals from varied professions to share, learn and support one another in the pursuit of quality excellence.
Jacqueline was elected as a Director on the AOQ Board in May 2017 and is driven to support the future of AOQ for its members.
Dr Jacqueline Graham
Jacqueline is the Managing Director of Statistical Edge Pty Ltd and is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Organisation for Quality. She is a qualified Chemical Engineer and holds a doctorate in Statistics and Quality Management from the University of Salford, England.
For 5 years Jacqueline worked as an aid to Dr W. Edwards Deming, the father of Statistical Process Control and quality improvement. In this role she assisted with two and four day conferences as well as consulting at board level to major companies in the USA, Australia, Asia, and the United Kingdom.
For 5 years Jacqueline worked for General Motors in the United Kingdom and Europe where she was responsible for supplier quality assurance. In this role she actively promoted the use of Statistical Process Control as an integral part of GM suppliers’ businesses to ensure product quality and consistency. She also developed operational systems to support the liaison between General Motors and their European suppliers.
